New Year 2007~ Happy New Year! Where the earth starts again from this very point of orbit that will goes around the sun for another 365.24 days(something like that... ) This very point(approximately there lah ignore the leap years) that people do count down and things like that since a proper calander system in function. Ok ignore those craps. By the way did you have a good countdown and good celebration and good resolution for this new year?
My family and I went for this celebration around the area. Between the countdown at 1 Utama and The Curve, with these 2 shoppers attraction that are within walking distance... I chosed The Curve. Actually I would really like to go for the MyFM radio's sponser in 1 Utama, however due to the thoughts of there would be overcrowded, The Curve comes to my second instinct. What I ponder upon as more rational. And every family members decide in coherent. So, nothing to provoke my first instinct.
Arrived around 7 p.m, almost fully parked, outside the Shopping centre car park area. Which we could have imagine the crowd inside there. Walking towards the Shopping mall around 500 metres away, the ladies are dressing up in dazzling beautiful dresses, and the guys look much cooler and smart with casual but I believe to be their best new shirts. Everyone are smilling, chatting, greetings each other when they gather, Hugs, and laughter everywhere. The good dining spots are all crowded by people, the crowds at the entrance increase with the popularity of the restaurant. Even the usually cold and quiet restaurants get the blessing due to the options 'can fit into your stomach much faster'. Every corner, every corridors and every walk way are occupied with streams of people, and I figure this could be a good picture of 'Finding where's XXX' by asking my sister to hid somewhere in the crowd and snap a picture. And later let her friends guess where she was. It should be fun~ (Too bad due to my clumsiness the camera sits just beside the 'dressing bench'- the bench you sit on to tie your shoe lace infront of your shoe rack) ;p
Ok. We settle for food, we walk around looking at the discounted stuff, finding some cheap valuables, while waiting for the count down which is around 3 hours away. Many did the same while enjoying the cooling air cond inside the building. Some early birds went earlier for the street party, with the HitzFM Deejays busy entertaining the early birds and preparing the set up of this party.
Close up to 10.30 p.m. People starting to gather around the street party. Everyone, toddles, youngsters, adults, elders, families, friends, relatives, lovers are all united up the same place with the same aim to watch fireworks and some celebration. Youngsters are usually the more interesting groups to look at, with cans of sprays that pops out ribbons and some weird smell, and some that colours your hair without staying on permanently, are having fun spraying at each other and group themselves into the 'white hair groups', 'the green hair hunks', 'the orange shirts gang' things like that. Some, sitting by the road side with dozens of Carlsberg, blushing in semi-drunken phase(which is more commonly, Ecstasy). Some heart-warming scenarios, a father hugging his child, and swinging him around, to keep him away from feeling bored. The young ones enjoying conversations with the elders, as usually they might be busier with work and studies.
11 p.m! People are standing much closer to each other and are more on focus to the stage. As our heart beat rhythmic along strong music, some, are swinging their hands along with their favourite artists. Others, asking around, "Hey who is this?" "Don't know. Some guy, like the one from some channels I saw." Some stand still staring at the on going, some swinging their head or body slightly along the music, some frantically dancing off, shouting, climbing over some partner's shoulder frantically swinging off his tops and did some attention seeking but entertaining gestures. Being dee jays surely have gone through some hard time of 'ice-breaking' and warming up the audiences, cause people are not really responsive. Nah, they are not funny enough to get in control and their attention; not creative enough. Ok stop this whining cause I think they are doing their best to entertain us here the stoney faces, with the pressure of people would not be interested enough to listen but still have to keep going on with the show, it's really not an easy task. Later, Erra Fazirah came on stage. At the beginning the atmosphere is still kinda cold, but later after some great songs, the overall reaction changed. The closer feeling of the celebration with great applaude.
Following up with some games, and some gifts away, it's been closer and closer towards 12.00 a.m. Comforting breeze evaporate the heat that's usually intollerantable. Hopes and dreams in everyone's heart. Smile on faces. End with 6 minutes firework show, with some people around snaping pictures together, and the firework(believe me, even if you tried a million times, fire works will never show realistic beautifully on current technology commercial cameras, ok?) Greetings and hugs everywhere, with hundreds of faces looking up the sky, unconsciously, this feeling of companionship is really quite cool.
Well... I've been thinking how to make the celebration even more lively. I've been thinking that one year maybe I wanted to be dress up in Gothic or something like, finding a group that is happening enough to want to dress up more 'dramatically'. Well haha... maybe not a good idea of dressing up all black around some chinese community cause I might upset a little of the more conservatives (cause black symbolise 'unlucky', like many other culture, black defines negative events). But hey, maybe dressing up in some costumes might allow people to wonder back to their memories of their childhood heroes and things like that, maybe superman, batman, spiderman, maybe some harry potter, captain jack sparrow, marilyn monroe, star wars characters, or things like that. Surely would enlighten people's heart during this enlighting and relaxing time of a year, and some 'happening' memories for their New Year celebration, while we are having fun ourselves during this over produced hormone period. And hey! We might even get a couple of coins if they love to, cause there are quite some caucasians around and I figure some might like to give us some encouragements due to the 'creativity' and entertainment they might get on street. If many people are doing this maybe the atmosphere would be really celebrative and eventually this might become one 'A Boleh thing! Malaysia must see culture, costume parties for countdown...' eh hehehe....^^
Ok... hopefully everyone are feeling as fresh as that day for the rest of the days, and not to forget the dreams and goals under those fireworks. Get off here now and go start up with some work.
